Nejc Petek received his M.Sc. in chemistry in 2017 at the University of Ljubljana under the supervision of Professor Jurij Svete. He then continued his studies as a doctoral student under supervision of Professor Bogdan Štefane. During his PhD studies he was a visiting scholar at the University of Regensburg in Germany, working in the research group of Professor Oliver Reiser. His research interests include developing novel synthetic methods in heterocyclic chemistry with emphasis on visible light induced transformations as well as early development of biologically active compounds. In 2021 he successfully completed his PhD under the supervision of prof. Bogdan Štefane and is continuing his research at the University of Ljubljana.
